McMATH WINS BOYS CITY HOOPS TITLE. Jordin Kojima scored 41 points as McMath won its first Richmond high school senior boys’ hoops title since 2005 with a 103-79 win over McNair Marlins in the playoff final Thursday.

McMATH WINS 5th CITY TITLE IN A ROW. En route to the Lower Mainland playdowns, McMath’s senior girls’ basketball team won the Richmond championship Thursday defeating Hugh Boyd Trojans in the final.

Hungary wins hockey title. Hungary’s U16 national team went a perfect 6-0 at the Richmond International Bantam Midget Hockey Tournament Dec. 26 to 31 at Minoru Arenas. The team, which dominated offensively, capped its visit with a 1-0 overtime victory over Moose Jaw Generals in the Midget Major Division playoff final.

YVR tackles snow removal. YVR works to keep runways and taxiways clear so planes can depart during the snowiest of weather. The plane’s wings are tinted yellow by de-icing fluid.
