3rd Annual Best on the Block BBQ Rib Cook-Off
for Charity
Who: Chefs from 75 West Coast Grill, CAVU
Kitchen Bar and Harold’s Bistro & Bar
What: You can get a 1/4 rack of ribs from all
three restaurants, and the opportunity to vote for your favourite rib team. 100
per cent of the proceeds are going to the Richmond Food Bank Society.
When: Saturday, Aug. 17 from 11 a.m. to 2
p.m.

11th Annual Richmond Garlic Festival
Who: Hosted by The Sharing Farm
What: A community event filled with farm
fresh garlic, local garlicky delights, a farmers market, kid’s activities, live
music, farm tours, garlic ice cream and much more.

Who: Richmond Art Gallery
What: An exhibition by Calgary based
artist Rita McKeough, Dig as Deep as the Darkness is an
immersive media installation that proposes an abstractive narrative of an
excavation site that reveals subterranean layers below an imagined city.
When: Recurring daily through Sept. 15 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; 5 p.m. on weekends)

Music at the Cannery
Who: Gulf of Georgia Cannery National
Historic Site
What: The Gulf of Georgia Cannery National
Historic Site‘s annual summertime evening concert series returns Friday
evenings to Aug. 30. Each Friday features a different musical act, catering to
a wide range of musical tastes, from blues, jazz, folk, swing and more.
Concerts will take place outdoors on the Cannery's Tank Deck, or inside the
historic cannery if it rains. Suitable for all ages.

What: Upwards of 20 different varieties of
sunflowers over 8 acres of land with hay rides and train rides, live music,
food trucks, beer garden, wine tasting in the vineyard on weekends
