McMath Wildcats capped a stellar season on the high school rugby pitch with a solid fourth-place finish Saturday at the B.C. AA Tier I championships in Abbotsford.

Seeded fourth entering the tournament, the Wildcats opened with a 24-20 victory over fifth-ranked Robert Bateman Timberwolves. A 28-0 setback to top-seed and eventual champion St. Michaels University School in semifinal play followed, before the Wildcats lost 29-7 to second-ranked Collingwood in the third-place game.

SMU topped third-ranked Brentwood 24-14 in the final.
