McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport is partnering with the Richmond Food Bank to donate to those in need.
From now through Oct. 23, people can participate in the Fall Favourites project by donating non-perishable food items while celebrating fall flavours at McArthurGlen. There is a donation bin outside the main entrance to Food Folk Eatery, across from the fountain.
“The Richmond Food Bank has seen an increase in usage of 35 per cent this year, much of this from Ukraine refugees and families,” says McArthurGlen marketing manager Ally Day. “Now more than ever, food banks need community support, awareness, and goodwill. We are encouraging our brand partners, employees, (and) guests to give back as they see fit, as every little bit counts. McArthurGlen recognizes and values the importance of being an active member of our community, and we will continue to support the food bank and other local groups throughout the year.”
Day says the food bank is in need of non-perishable food items including rice, pasta, canned soups, canned beans, canned tomatoes, and peanut butter—especially with little or no added sugar. Donations of unopened toiletries and personal hygiene items are also accepted.
“There are many ways to get involved and support the Richmond Food Bank. We have a link for monetary donations on our website, as well as (a link) to the Richmond Food Bank for volunteering and providing additional support,” says Day.
