B.C. reports COVID-19 data from Dec. 4 to 10

In the past week (Dec. 4 to 10) there were 659 new COVID-19 cases reported in B.C., bringing the overall total to 391,285 since the pandemic began.
Of the new cases, 155 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 207 in the Fraser Health region, 117 in the Island Health region, 162 in the Interior Health region, and 18 in the Northern Health region.
As of today, there are 374 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in B.C., 31 of whom are in critical care.
There were 171 new hospital admissions in the past week (Dec. 4 to 10). Of those, 38 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 69 in the Fraser Health region, 26 in the Island Health region, 29 in the Interior Health region, and nine in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 admissions in the previous week (Nov. 27 to Dec. 3) increased to 195 from the 140 originally reported last week.
There were 28 new critical care admissions in the past week (Dec. 4 to 10). Of those, six were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 15 in the Fraser Health region, three in the Island Health region, three in the Interior Health region, and one in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of critical care admissions in the previous week (Nov. 27 to Dec. 3) increased to 37 from the 33 originally reported last week.
The 30-day all-cause mortality report, which includes COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 related deaths occurring within 30 days from a positive lab result, indicates there were 27 deaths between Dec. 4 and 10.
Of those who died, five lived in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, seven in the Fraser Health region, five in the Island Health region, eight in the Interior Health region, and two in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 deaths in the previous week (Nov. 27 to Dec. 3) increased to 31 from the 17 originally reported last week. Deaths the previous week (Nov. 20 to 26) increased by three to 45.
