B.C. reports COVID-19 data from Jan. 29 to Feb. 4

In the past week (Jan. 29 to Feb. 4) there were 278 new COVID-19 cases reported in B.C., bringing the overall total to 395,367 since the pandemic began.
Of the new cases, 56 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 111 in the Fraser Health region, 38 in the Island Health region, 57 in the Interior Health region, and 16 in the Northern Health region.
The number of new cases the previous week (Jan. 22 to 28) decreased by one to 292.
As of today, there are 188 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in B.C., 25 of whom are in critical care.
There were 88 new hospital admissions in the past week (Jan. 29 to Feb. 4). Of those, 23 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 42 in the Fraser Health region, 12 in the Island Health region, six in the Interior Health region, and five in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 admissions in the previous week (Jan. 22 to 28) increased to 96 from the 73 originally reported last week.
There were 21 new critical care admissions in the past week (Jan. 29 to Feb. 4). Of those, four were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 10 in the Fraser Health region, two in the Island Health region, two in the Interior Health region, and three in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of critical care admissions in the previous week (Jan. 22 to 28) remained at 26, the same number that was reported last week.
The 30-day all-cause mortality report, which includes COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 related deaths occurring within 30 days from a positive lab result, indicates there were 20 deaths between Jan. 29 and Feb. 4.
Of those who died, one lived in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, seven in the Fraser Health region, six in the Island Health region, four in the Interior Health region, and two in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 deaths in the previous week (Jan. 22 to 28) increased to 38 from the 30 originally reported last week.
