B.C. reports COVID-19 data from Feb. 12 to 18

In the past week (Feb. 12 to 18) there were 356 new COVID-19 cases reported in B.C., bringing the overall total to 396,066 since the pandemic began.
Of the new cases, 82 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 151 in the Fraser Health region, 51 in the Island Health region, 59 in the Interior Health region, and 13 in the Northern Health region.
As of today, there are 240 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in B.C., 17 of whom are in critical care.
There were 95 new hospital admissions in the past week (Feb. 12 to 18). Of those, 30 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 31 in the Fraser Health region, 20 in the Island Health region, 12 in the Interior Health region, and two in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 admissions in the previous week (Feb. 5 to 11) increased to 107 from the 81 originally reported last week.
There were 25 new critical care admissions in the past week (Feb. 12 to 18). Of those, six were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 10 in the Fraser Health region, three in the Island Health region, five in the Interior Health region, and one in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of critical care admissions in the previous week (Feb. 5 to 11) increased to 25 from the 23 originally reported last week.
The 30-day all-cause mortality report, which includes COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 related deaths occurring within 30 days from a positive lab result, indicates there were 22 deaths between Feb. 12 and 18.
Of those who died, two lived in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, seven in the Fraser Health region, five in the Island Health region, six in the Interior Health region, and two in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 deaths in the previous week (Feb. 5 to 11) increased to 22 from the 13 originally reported last week. Deaths the previous week (Jan. 29 to Feb. 4) increased by one to 26.
