New Forever Fund Scholarship for Political Science students

The Richmond Community Foundation has announced the creation of the Wendy Yuan and Kan Chen Scholarship Endowment Fund. Beginning next year, the fund will provide an annual scholarship to a local student pursuing an education in political science.
“This is an important addition to our scholarship offerings,” says Ed Gavsie, Executive Director of the Community Foundation. “By providing financial support to political science students, we’re able to encourage youth civic engagement, and help grow the next generation of community leaders.”
Yuan and Chen are long-time Richmond residents, and contribute to the community by volunteering and raising funds for a variety of causes.
Yuan, who is politically active, serves on the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors, and co-chairs the organization’s Donor Development Committee.
“In recent years, Wendy has played a key role in our fund development efforts,” says Gavsie. “She’s helped many individuals and businesses establish Forever Funds, and it’s fitting that she now has one of her own.”
