On Thursday, Sept. 14, Notch8 at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver will launch its next themed Afternoon Tea service, inspired by the cozy embrace of sweater weather that meets the rich and warm flavours of the autumn season.

The newly imagined Autumn Harvest Afternoon Tea service is a celebration of the changing of seasons and the rustic beauty and charm that Fall brings to the city.

Led under the culinary direction of Notch8 Head Chef Danai Hongwanishkul, and venue design by Koncept Events, the tea room décor will feature a warm and inviting ambiance that captures all senses of the season, setting the backdrop for an immersive dining experience.

Guests can expect an array of sweet and savoury delights inspired by the most celebrated ingredients of the season. Savoury dishes pay tribute to the fall harvest with items such as Butternut Squash Tart with toasted walnuts and whipped goat cheese, Mushroom and Thyme puff-pastry pinwheel, and Brie and Pear Tea Sandwich.

The artistry of the hotel's pastry team will highlight a collection of items featuring warm spices and festive ingredients such as fluffy cinnamon sugar maple scones with cream and apple compote, Spiced Latte Coffee Cake, a sweet and spicy Ginger Pear Tart, and Pumpkin Profiteroles.

Leading Notch8's bar program and its exclusive Afternoon Tea cocktail menu, Assistant General Manager Steve Hagan has designed a selection of feature cocktails available only during Afternoon Tea service. The Pumpkin Spice Latte Martini featuring vodka, Kahlúa, pumpkin spice cream and espresso that takes the beloved PSL to a new level, while the Harvest Moon Honey comprised of cranberry gin, lemon, spiced honey, and honeycomb sugar offers a seasonal twist on the classic Bees Knees.

The Orchard Breeze takes guest through the warm and complex flavours of Fall with bourbon, apple cider, ginger of the indies, lemon, bitters and splash of soda.
Autumn Harvest Afternoon Tea will be available from Thursday, Sept. 14 through Sunday, Nov. 19 with seatings held Thursday through Sunday and statutory holiday Mondays at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.

The Autumn Harvest Afternoon Tea experience is available for $69.00 (excluding taxes and gratuity) per person and begins with a menu of hand-selected loose-leaf tea inspired by autumn flavours, along with a tea tier of dishes to complement the tea room's cozy ambiance. Cocktails, wine and bubbles are available as optional add-ons to the experience. A special Children's Afternoon Tea menu for ages 12 and under is available for $40.00 (excluding taxes and gratuity).
