On Sept. 17, almost 200 people gathered at Garry Point Park to participate in the 43rd annual Terry Fox Run. By the time Mayor Malcolm Brodie sounded the horn to the start the run down the scenic Dyke Trail, over $20,000 had already been raised. Participants walked, ran, some eve wheeled, by the time they returned a total of $25,000 had been raised.
All funds raised at the run, as well as the hundreds of runs across Canada, will be going towards important research that is making great strides to finding new treatments that are saving lives—giving extended life to those living with cancer, and precious time for their families to spend more time with them.
The Richmond Terry Fox Run organizers would like to express their gratitude to the volunteers and committee members who dedicated their time to help make this event happen.
Thank you Richmond for coming through with flying colours this year.
