Applications now accepted for 2024 Richmond Neighbourhood Block Party Program

Want to connect with neighbours, create a sense of community and enhance safety and awareness in neighbourhoods? Why not host a block party? Richmond-based neighbours (two individuals not living in the same household) can apply for funding of up to $500.00 through the 2024 Richmond Neighbourhood Block Party Program.
Block parties can take place in a variety of spaces, including parks, on local streets or on private property in Richmond. Examples of neighbourhood block parties that may be eligible for funding include welcome parties for new residents, a barbeque or a picnic.
Block parties that receive funding are required to:
- take place in Richmond between May 1 and Oct. 31, 2024;
- demonstrate alignment with program objectives, including creating events that build and strengthen a sense of community in Richmond; and
- be free to participants.
In addition, applicants must show evidence of their capacity to host a block party and show a realistic estimate of the resources needed and the total budget required.
Application forms must be submitted six to eight weeks before the proposed block party date. To learn more about the Richmond Neighbourhood Block Party Program and submit an online application, visit richmond.ca/BlockParty.
