Man allegedly in possession of firearms arrested without incident

On April 24, 2024 just prior to 8:45 a.m. Richmond RCMP received a report of a man allegedly in possession of firearms in a hotel in the 3000 block of St. Edwards Dr.
Richmond RCMP with the assistance of the Integrated Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team (LMD IERT) contained the area. For public and police safety the hotel was evacuated and the surrounding area was cordoned off.
Shortly after noon the man was safely taken into custody by LMD IERT.
There is no ongoing risk to the public and the hotel has re-opened to the public.
Richmond RCMP General Investigation Section has conduct of this investigation which remains active and ongoing.
No further information will be released at this time.
