Tourism Richmond celebrated Richmond’s tourism industry at the 2024 Richmond Epic Tourism Awards. The awards, modelled after the organization’s EPIC core values of Excellence, Passion, Integrity, and Collaboration, were given to four tourism businesses and individuals in the community.
“We see these values every day through our partnerships with the community and stakeholders,” explains Nancy Small, chief executive officer of Tourism Richmond. “These awards are a great way to bring everyone together – to celebrate the industry, recognize achievements, and most importantly, to give thanks to the community for making Richmond a unique and exciting place to visit.”
The winners were selected by a panel of individuals involved in Richmond’s tourism industry. Athiana Acres, a 30-acre Certified Organic farm in Steveston, won the Excellence Award for Innovation for its diverse produce and new guided farm tours.
Chloe Kim from Versante Hotel received the Passion Award for Individual Achievement for her exceptional service, including sourcing infant formula for a stranded mother.
The Sharing Farm Society earned the Integrity Award for Community Participation for its contributions, such as donating fresh produce to food banks and hosting events.
Lastly, Steveston Waterfront Hotel won the Collaboration Award for Successful Partnerships for its "Brews n' Bikes" package, promoting local businesses and enhancing the experience for visitors and locals alike.
The third year of the EPIC Awards was hosted by Tourism Richmond at the Westin Wall Centre during their year-end celebration. The event brought together over a two hundred of Tourism Richmond's partners and stakeholders to celebrate a successful year of tourism in the city.
