Richmond RCMP seek witness to footage in alleged arson

Richmond RCMP are seeking witnesses to an alleged arson that took place at the 8300 block of Granville Avenue.
On Aug.17, 2025, at 01:19 a.m., Richmond RCMP responded to a report of a fire at a store in the 8300 Granville Ave in Richmond.
An employee reported a fire outside the store. Richmond Fire-Rescue attended and put out the fire. There were no reported injuries.
A person of interest has been identified, and the matter is under investigation.
“Our investigators are aware of footage circulating on social media. While we appreciate the concern being shown, we ask anyone who has video footage or information about this incident to contact police investigators directly,” says Corporal Melissa Lui, Richmond RCMP Media Relations Officer. “Sharing information with us will ensure it becomes part of the official investigation and helps hold those responsible accountable.”
