Steveston Village is ready to sparkle this holiday season as Tourism Richmond, together with its community partners, celebrates Winter in the Village, running until December 31, 2025. Visitors and locals alike can enjoy festive lights, seasonal décor, and cheerful activities throughout the waterfront village.
Ongoing highlights include Steveston Sips, where local cafés, bars, and restaurants serve special holiday drinks and treats; the Winter Tram, featuring themed décor, a scavenger hunt, LEGO displays, and a cozy reading corner; the Steveston Festival of Trees, showcasing decorated trees from local groups with opportunities to vote for your favourites; and the What We Hold Installation, celebrating cherished objects, memories, and winter traditions.
Notable events from December 2 to December 15 include:
• Saturday, December 6: Filipino Christmas Celebration & Parol Lantern Workshop at Gulf of Georgia Cannery; Songs in the Snow performances at Town Square Park; The Polar Express Story Time aboard the Winter Tram; Holiday Crafts at Murakami House; Jingle Bell High Tea at London Farm.
• Sunday, December 7: Horse and Carriage Rides in Steveston Village; Santa arrives by boat at Fisherman’s Wharf, followed by photos at the Cannery; Jingle Bell Afternoon Tea at London Farm
• Saturday, December 13: Holiday Crafts at Murakami House; Songs in the Snow at Town Square Park; Jingle Bell Afternoon Tea at London Farm

For a little extra holiday magic, everyone can head to Richmond Centre, where a 78 foot Christmas tree glows with dazzling light-and-music shows until Dec 31. The mall’s holiday décor enchants patrons, while holiday music brings festive cheer to the food court on Fridays and Saturdays until Dec 20. It’s the perfect spot to soak in the seasonal sparkle, enjoy holiday shopping, and share in the heartwarming atmosphere throughout the mall.
