Richmond Night Market Announces Final Season After 26 Remarkable Years

Richmond, BC — After 26 unforgettable years, the Richmond Night Market has announced that the 2026 season will be its final year of operation at its current location, marking the end of one of North America's largest night markets and one of British Columbia's most iconic summer attractions.
Since its beginning, the Richmond Night Market has grown from a local community event into a destination recognized across Canada and around the world, welcoming millions of visitors while celebrating the diversity, culture, food, and entrepreneurial spirit that makes Richmond so unique.
“As the owner, I have had the privilege of organizing and operating the Richmond Night Market for the past 26 years,” said Raymond Cheung, Founder of the Richmond Night Market. “It has been one of the most rewarding and enjoyable journeys of my life. Watching a single local event grow into one of Canada's best-known summer attractions has been an incredible honour.”
The decision comes as the market's lease has come to an end, bringing this chapter of the Richmond Night Market to a close.
“Although it is heartbreaking to say goodbye, I am filled with gratitude rather than regret,” Cheung said. “The memories we have created together over the past 26 years will continue to live on in the hearts of our visitors, vendors, performers, and everyone who has been part of this amazing journey.”
Over more than two decades, the Richmond Night Market has become much more than a place to enjoy great food and entertainment. It has provided opportunities for thousands of small businesses, introduced countless entrepreneurs to new customers, created jobs for generations of young people, and brought families and friends together to celebrate summer year after year.
