Two men have been charged with break and enter thanks in part to a neighbour who called police after an incident last week.
The incident took place just after 6:30 a.m. on March 8 in the 8000 block of Heather Street.
“The complainant lives in a neighbouring suite inside of the residence and heard suspicious noises coming from the other unit,” says Cpl. Adriana O’Malley, Richmond RCMP media relations officer. “The other unit was supposed to be unoccupied, and fortunately the complainant didn’t ignore the sounds.”
Thanks to the neighbour’s decision to call police, the suspects were located quickly nearby in a U-Haul truck. Both were arrested without incident and evidentiary items, including break-in tools, were recovered.
“This homeowner recognized something unusual was going on, and contacted 911 immediately. Coupled with the quick, decisive and coordinated efforts by our frontline officers, the two suspects were located and arrested,” says Cpl. Dennis Hwang, media relations officer for the Richmond RCMP. “We want to reiterate to the community that the reduction of property crime and arresting those responsible for it is a top priority for us.”
Whindyll Villalon Jordan, 31, and 34-year-old Hoang Huu Vuu, both from Richmond, have been charged with one count of break and enter.
