What would you change about Richmond, if you could?

What would you change about Richmond, if you could?

What’s important to keep the same?

What values do you want to preserve?

You have the power to guide those decisions in our city.

Richmond has over 20 advisory committees. With over 100 openings on various advisory committees, there is something for each person’s priorities.

The terms begin in January 2020, and you have just over a month to apply.

“The Advisory Committees play an important role in helping inform strategy and decisions that impact current and future residents,” says Mayor Malcolm Brodie. “Through participation and collaboration on the committees, valuable insights are shared on a variety of areas of civic importance such as the environment, childcare, seniors, arts, agriculture and the economy.”

While the advisory positions are not paid, they are an important part of Canadian culture – citizens having their say to shape their city.

Application forms, as well as information on the various committees, their mandates and terms of reference are available online at www.richmond.ca/cityhall/council/boards/advisory.

Printed copies of the application form are also available at the information desk at Richmond City Hall, 6911 No. 3 Rd.

Those interested are asked to submit their completed application form and résumé by 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23.
