Ongoing gang conflict in the Lower Mainland claimed two lives last week in Richmond.

Dilraj Johal, 28, died from gunshot wounds in a unit at 8120 Lansdowne Rd. just before midnight Saturday.

“Dilraj Johal was known to police and we believe he was targeted for murder. His death is the third homicide in the past four days related to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict,” says Sgt. Frank Jang of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

Around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Anees Mohammed, 29, died from gunshot wounds around the area of Garry Street and Fentiman Place. Jang said Mohammed was also known to police, who believe he was targeted for murder in another apparent connection to the gang conflict.
