Richmond property owners are reminded that property taxes are due on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.

Richmond property owners are reminded that property taxes are due on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.

Property owners who have not yet received their 2019 tax notice can access their account information through the MyRichmond feature on the City’s website or should call the Tax Department immediately at 604-276-4145. All property owners are responsible for property tax payments and applicable penalties, regardless of whether or not a tax notice is received.

If taxes are not paid by July 2, 2019, a five per cent penalty will be charged on all current taxes outstanding. The penalty will also be applied to the amount of any eligible Home Owner Grant unclaimed. A further five per cent penalty will be charged on all outstanding tax amounts after September 3, 2019.

Payments can be:

• Made online via credit card (service charges apply) or by registering at MyRichmond.

• Made online or in person through your financial institution. Please allow for a minimum of two business days for payments to process.

• Placed in the drop box at the north west entrance to City Hall after work hours.

• Placed in the blue drop box in Richmond City Hall during work hours (8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

• Made in-person at the Cashier Counter at Richmond City Hall. Cash, cheque, credit and debit payments are accepted by the cashiers. Due to the volume of tax payers, wait times may be long. The City will not accept cash payments of $10,000 or greater.

• Mailed to the City of Richmond Tax Department, 6911 No. 3 Road, Richmond BC, V6Y 2C1. Postmarks are not accepted as the payment date. Penalties will be applied on late payments received by mail.

• Alternatively, the grant application on the bottom of the property tax notice may be completed in full and returned to the Tax Department by the due date.
