Dedicated to supporting local health care and Richmond Hospital Foundation for nearly two decades, Vancouver Metropolitan Lions Club have stepped up yet again.

The club held its 12th charity concert at the Sun Wah Centre in September in support of the new Yurkovich Family Pavilion (acute care tower) at Richmond Hospital. The featured entertainment included singer May Ho (current member and past-president of Vancouver Metropolitan Lions Club) and guest Sandra Lang.

“Vancouver Metropolitan Lions Club is honoured to be a pioneer, organizing our first online charity concert. Having this Lions’ Project (charity concert) during the pandemic, we were able to witness the philanthropic hearts of countless families being ignited after the storm, together supporting health care in Richmond,” says  Ho.

Vancouver Metropolitan Lions Club has committed to raising $50,000 in five years towards the new Yurkovich Family Pavilion. Since 2001, the club has raised over $240,000 for Richmond Hospital Foundation.

"We are grateful for Vancouver Lions Club’s philanthropic leadership,” says Natalie Meixner, president and CEO, Richmond Hospital Foundation. “Their generosity and dedication to building a better and healthier future for Richmond is an inspiration for our community.”

For over 30 years, Richmond Hospital Foundation has raised over $100 million to help fund vital medical equipment, improvements in patient care services and upgraded facilities. The goal is to inspire joyful giving within our community to build a better and healthier future for Richmond.
