With the resumption of city council meetings
next week, Richmond residents can tune in to what’s happening with their local
government.
Starting Sept. 11, city council meetings both
live and on demand are accessible through the city’s website at www.richmond.ca.
“Your council is committed to ensuring that
our citizens are well informed and engaged about city business and
decision-making,” said Mayor Malcolm Brodie. “In fact, having a well-informed
citizenry is one of our nine council term goals. Through our live streaming of
council meetings and online archiving of the video, we’re ensuring council’s
actions and decisions are transparent and accountable.”
Richmond city council meetings are usually
held on the second and fourth Mondays of the month, starting at 7 p.m.,
including the next meeting Sept. 11. Live streaming is accessible via the
E-Services menu on the home page of the city’s website.
Video of each meeting is also archived online
and can be accessed anytime. Meetings dating back to June 2014 are available.
Council meetings are also open to the public
and anyone is welcome to attend in person.
