Sharing Farm hosts Day of Caring
Community businesses and groups joined forces
Saturday to demonstrate the power of volunteering.
More than 60 individuals gathered at The
Sharing Farm on June 3 for the sixth annual Richmond Day of Caring, eliciting a
grateful response from Ed Gavsie, president and chief executive officer of
Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives, which organized the event.
“The Day of Caring gives local,
community-minded businesses a chance to show their philanthropic spirit,"
he said. "It's wonderful to see employees proudly wearing company shirts,
volunteering with their families. It's about team-building and having fun, but
they're also supporting an important cause."

In addition to the businesses that volunteered, three caring companies donated food for the event, with COBS Bread at Richmond Centre andStarbucks in Terra Nova providing breakfast and Pacific Gateway Hotel catering lunch.
Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives is a
registered charity that serves as a hub for volunteering and giving. It is also
