When Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives launched the Richmond Family & Friend Caregiver Hub, the goal was to provide caregivers with wellness tips and coping strategies, while sharing information on community resources. And to do it all via video.

Last summer, videos in both English and Chinese began introducing the Caregiver Hub. From there, filming sessions in the Relax, Recharge, Reset workshop series were held with topics including yoga, art therapy, and mindfulness. This initial round of filming culminated in a video posted Sept. 4 called What Brings Us Joy. In it, every member of our Seniors Community Support Services team describes one of their favourite hobbies or activities. There's everything from gardening to origami, weightlifting to collecting Hello Kitty memorabilia.

As of now, the Caregiver Hub video archive includes 14 videos, with two or three being added each month. It's still very much a work in progress, but the archive is taking shape as a useful community resource.

If you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed, the activities and techniques featured in the videos will help you unwind. Whether you watch an entire video, or just a clip, chances are you'll feel better afterward.
