What police believe is a dark-coloured van allegedly struck a 70-year-old man, while he crossed the street at Gilbert Rd. and Blundell Rd just before 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22. The vehicle then left the scene without offering assistance to the injured man.

The injured man was then transported to hospital with serious injuries. His wife, with whom he was crossing the street, was not injured.

Richmond RCMP say, “Police are asking the community for their assistance and asking anyone with information about this incident to contact Constable Z. Sharoom at 604-278-1212. Quote file# 2019-16570.”

They also ask anyone who may have been in the area of Blundell and Gilbert at the time of the collision, just before 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, to review their dashcam footage and contact the police as above.
