Performance call for 'Canada Day at Home'

The Richmond Arts Coalition is putting out an urgent call for Canada Day at Home performers.

Musicians, singers, dancers, poets, actors, animators or film and digital artists are all needed for this July 1 online presentation.

The City of Richmond and Steveston Salmon Festival are again co-hosting the Canada Day at Home event, with performing artists needed to create video content to be presented on a virtual main stage. The performances are intended to engage, educate, and entertain.

The deadline for submissions is this Sunday (June 13) at 5 p.m. Projects must be completed by June 28.

“Performing artists and/or artist groups of all ages are invited to submit a virtual audition video (maximum two minutes),” says Andrew Wade, executive director, Richmond Arts Coalition.

Candidates will be selected by a panel of judges, based on most appropriate mix of talent, skill, diversity and a demonstrated technological ability to produce a complete video performance.

• Additionally, RiseSun North American Ltd. has set a June 15 deadline for expressions of interest from professional artists or artist teams to design, fabricate, and install a permanent public artwork at their development project located at 8100 Westminster Hwy. in Brighouse Village.
