After a hiatus during which all programming took place online, the Richmond Centre for Disability is resuming outdoor programs.

‘Outdoor relaxation’ will run Wednesdays in July and August, from 11 a.m. to noon, at Brighouse Park. People can meet at the west side of the park, closest to Richmond Caring Place, and bring a yoga mat, towel or something else to sit on.

“This was a class we created last summer to adapt to restrictions and give people stress management options,” explains community outreach co-ordinator Dave Thomson.

He adds that, while the centre was running virtual programming consistently, some people did not have access to technology or the knowledge necessary to ‘log in’ to online classes.

“We have not seen some of these people for almost two years,” Thomson notes. “So yes, (it’s) very significant for everyone.”
