Team #FugCancer Fundraiser 

Who: Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks 

What: A fundraiser that supports Team #FugCancer in the Ride to Conquer Cancer bike ride on Aug. 24 and 25. A ticket gets you a Nando’s BBQ lunch, a beer and a pair of swings at the FugCancer car. There will also be raffle tickets with prizes and a contest to win one of two new bikes. 

When: Saturday, July 27, 12 to 5 p.m.

Price: $20 for a general ticket, $5 for entry to the bike contest, and $10 for five swings at the Fugging Car

4th Annual Bodhi Meditation Day 

Who: Vancouver Bodhi Meditation Centre

What: A family-oriented fair that focuses on community, happiness, compassion, environmental awareness and health. The event includes food trucks, live performances, a buy and sell market, healthy living seminars, meditation, a photo booth and more. 

When: Saturday, July 27, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Who: Richmond Capstan Alliance Church 

What: An annual non-profit community event with the goal of instilling love and hospitality back into the community. The event will include food, bouncy castles, puppet shows, balloon twisting, games, face painting and plenty of prizes to win.

Women’s National Team Red & White Match 

Who: Women’s National Volleyball Team 

What: The Canadian senior team’s last match before they leave for Kaliningrad, Russia for their International Olympic Qualifying Tournament at the end of July. This inter-squad Red and White Match and BBQ is the team’s send-off party that will be followed with a meet and greet. The barbecue will include a beer garden provided by Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks. There will be on-court audience contests and trivia being played to win Team Canada swag (signed balls, clothing, and more), and door raffle prizes. 

When: Friday, July 26. Pre-Match barbecue is at 5:30 p.m. The match starts at 7 p.m. The entire event runs from 5:30 to 10 p.m.

Price: Youth match pass is $5, youth barbecue and match pass is $10, adult match pass is $10, and adult barbecue and match pass is $20 (includes one drink).

PRIDE Drag Showcase 

Who: City Centre Community Centre

What: A family-friendly drag race in celebration of the LGBTQ2S community that features local dancers and performers.
