B.C. reports 357 new COVID-19 cases, four deaths

B.C. health officials reported 357 new cases of COVID-19 today. Since the pandemic began, B.C. has recorded 356,858 cases.
The numbers of new and total cases are provisional due to a delayed data refresh, according to a B.C. government news release.
Of the new cases, 82 are in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 97 in the Fraser Health region, 52 in the Island Health region, 103 in the Interior Health region, 23 in the Northern Health region, and no new cases of people who reside outside of Canada.
There are 274 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 and 35 are in intensive care.
To date, 11,495,364 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Pfizer Pediatric COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C.; 4,354,416 of those are second doses and 2,669,446 are third doses.
This means that 93.8 per cent of adults, 93.5 per cent of people aged 12 and older, and 90.9 per cent of people aged five and older have received their first dose of a vaccine. In addition, 91.5 per cent of adults, 91.1 per cent of those aged 12 and older, and 87.4 per cent of those aged five and older have received two doses; 59.3 per cent of adults and 57.6 per cent of those aged 12-plus have received three doses.
Sadly, there were four new COVID-related deaths reported today, bringing that total to 3,002. Of those who died, one lived in the Fraser Health region, two in the Island Health region, and one in the Interior Health region.
Active outbreaks continue at eight long-term care facilities and one acute care facility.
From March 24 to 30, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 18 per cent of cases.
From March 17 to 30, they accounted for 20.9 per cent of hospitalizations.
