The Richmond Family & Friend Caregiver Hub has a new lending library to provide resources to local caregivers.

The Caregiver Hub is run by Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives. Its lending library is open to anyone who provides unpaid care to an adult aged 55-plus living in Richmond.

Registered people can browse the library’s online catalogue, which is updated monthly. Up to two items can be borrowed at a time by contacting the Caregiver Hub to schedule a pick-up date. The borrowing period is one month, although renewals are possible. The entire service is free for users.

The resources include books that address the topic directly and others that focus on self-care. The library also allows caregivers to explore hobbies and activities like gardening, drawing, and meditation. People can also borrow puzzles or a chess set.

The library was created to help caregivers better support their loved ones, as well as to provide them with tools and resources for looking after themselves.
