B.C. reports COVID-19 data from Aug. 7 to 13

In the past week (Aug. 7 to 13) there were 877 new COVID-19 cases reported in B.C., bringing the overall total to 381,049 since the pandemic began.
Of the new cases, 200 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 284 in the Fraser Health region, 166 in the Island Health region, 182 in the Interior Health region, and 45 in the Northern Health region.
Last week’s case count (July 31 to Aug. 6) decreased by one to 899.
As of today, there are 366 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in B.C., 22 of whom are in critical care.
There were 181 new hospital admissions in the past week (Aug. 7 to 13). Of those, 48 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 52 in the Fraser Health region, 39 in the Island Health region, 33 in the Interior Health region, and nine in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 admissions in the previous week (July 31 to Aug. 6) increased to 226 from the 173 originally reported last week.
There were 29 new critical care admissions in the past week (Aug. 7 to 13). Of those, four were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 10 in the Fraser Health region, eight in the Island Health region, six in the Interior Health region, and one in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of critical care admissions in the previous week (July 31 to Aug. 6) increased to 39 from the 35 originally reported last week.
The 30-day all-cause mortality report, which includes COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 related deaths occurring within 30 days from a positive lab result, indicates there were 24 deaths between Aug. 7 and 13.
Of those who died, none lived in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, five in the Fraser Health region, 10 in the Island Health region, eight in the Interior Health region, and one in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 deaths in the previous week (July 31 to Aug. 6) increased to 40 from the 28 originally reported last week. Deaths the previous week (July 24 to 30) increased by three to 57.
Locally, the latest data from the BCCDC indicates that there were 31 cases in Richmond last week (Aug. 7 to 13), down from 33 the previous week (July 31 to Aug. 6).
