Minoru Centre for Active Living holding public open house

The public is invited to two action-packed days of activities at Minoru Centre for Active Living—Richmond’s state-of-the-art community facility—on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 9 and 10).
Try-It activities, prizes, facility tours, family-friendly entertainment, cake, and food trucks will be part of this fun community event. All Try-It sessions are free but registration is required either online (richmond.ca/register), by phone (604-276-4300), or in-person at Minoru Centre for Active Living or a nearby Richmond community centre.
Sept. 9: Seniors Centre open house
Seniors can learn about the many activities and programs delivered by the Minoru Seniors Society for those 55-plus years old. Some highlights of the day include a registered free pancake breakfast (55-plus only) and a variety of music and dance activities. Residents of all ages are invited to a special cake cutting ceremony by the mayor and councillors in the Aquatic Centre lobby at 6:30 p.m.
Sept. 10: Aquatic and Fitness Centre open house
Tour the facility and learn about the many programs and services available. Some highlights of the day include food trucks, information booths, swimming lessons, and a variety of fitness classes.

Minoru Centre for Active Living, located at 7191 Granville Avenue, is a 10,220 square metre (110,000 sq. ft.) community facility that includes a multi-pool aquatic centre featuring Canada’s largest hot tub, a state-of-the-art 790 square metre (8,500 sq. ft.) fitness centre, a two-storey seniors centre, a full service cafeteria and bistro, an events centre, and two outdoor public plazas.
