Want to be more involved in helping shape the future of your city? If so, the City of Richmond wants you.

The City is again calling for volunteers to participate in one of over 20 Advisory Committees that contribute to local government and the city you live in. Over 100 positions are now open for terms beginning in January 2020.

“The Advisory Committees play an important role in helping inform strategy and decisions that impact current and future residents,” says Mayor Malcolm Brodie. “Through participation and collaboration on the committees, valuable insights are shared on a variety of areas of civic importance such as the environment, childcare, seniors, arts, agriculture and the economy.”

The Council appointed roles are voluntary with no remuneration. Committee sizes vary, as do the length of terms.

Application forms, as well as information on the various committees, their mandates and terms of reference are available online at www.richmond.ca/cityhall/council/boards/advisory. Printed copies of the application form are also available at Richmond City Hall, Information Desk, 6911 No. 3 Road.

Those interested are asked to submit their completed application form and resume by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019.
