Airport traffic continuing to increase

Vancouver International Airport traffic is continuing to increase, nearing pre-pandemic levels.
In September, the airport (YVR) welcomed a total of 1,838,322 passengers, bringing its year-to-date total at month’s end to about 14 million passengers. In September 2019, the airport welcomed 2,168,162, bringing the year-to-date total to about 19 million passengers by the end of September.
Of the passengers who travelled through YVR this September, 930,433 were departing and 907,889 were arriving. About 921,812 bags were processed with these passengers, 649,371 of which were outbound bags.
Data from the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) indicates that about 85.2 per cent of passengers travelling from YVR in September were screened within 15 minutes.
