B.C. reports COVID-19 data from Nov. 20 to 26

In the past week (Nov. 20 to 26) there were 604 new COVID-19 cases reported in B.C., bringing the overall total to 390,087 since the pandemic began.

Of the new cases, 138 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 219 in the Fraser Health region, 113 in the Island Health region, 115 in the Interior Health region, and 19 in the Northern Health region.

As of today, there are 369 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in B.C., 38 of whom are in critical care.

There were 161 new hospital admissions in the past week (Nov. 20 to 26). Of those, 48 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 54 in the Fraser Health region, 28 in the Island Health region, 20 in the Interior Health region, and 11 in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.

The number of COVID-19 admissions in the previous week (Nov. 13 to 19) increased to 192 from the 144 originally reported last week.

There were 34 new critical care admissions in the past week (Nov. 20 to 26). Of those, five were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 15 in the Fraser Health region, five in the Island Health region, six in the Interior Health region, and three in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.

The number of critical care admissions in the previous week (Nov. 13 to 19) increased to 24 from the 23 originally reported last week.

The 30-day all-cause mortality report, which includes COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 related deaths occurring within 30 days from a positive lab result, indicates there were 26 deaths between Nov. 20 and 26. 

Of those who died, one lived in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, three in the Fraser Health region, 11 in the Island Health region, 10 in the Interior Health region, and one in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.

The number of COVID-19 deaths in the previous week (Nov. 13 to 19) increased to 29 from the 21 originally reported last week. Deaths the previous week (Nov. 6 to 12) increased by two to 43.
