Tomorrow (Dec. 8), Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is hosting its 12th annual hamper drive event in partnership with Quest Outreach Society. The hampers include meal essentials and festive favourites to ensure British Columbians in need can enjoy a complete dinner this holiday season.

New this year, YVR is bringing the grocery store to the airport for a one-stop shop and drop at the Quest Pop-Up Market.

With the rising cost of food and supply chain challenges, Quest secured more than 1,200 turkeys from a local producer as well as other holiday items to fill the hampers in advance and stock the shelves at the pop-up market to simplify the program and ensure complete meals could be delivered to families in need across the Lower Mainland. Travellers, employees, and the airport community will be able to shop the market, fill up a reusable bag with groceries, and purchase the goods by way of a donation to Quest Food Exchange.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the airport’s Haida Gwaii Jade Canoe, located on level 3 near the international departures area.
