The Molson CARHA Hockey World Cup, presented by Lulu Island Winery, is coming to Richmond from March 19 to 26. Recognized as the largest international adult recreational hockey tournament, ten countries will be represented as 98 teams compete across 17 divisions. Participants will have travelled from Australia, Canada, England, Finland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United States.

Local hockey fans and supporters will enjoy family-friendly entertainment with free admission to the approximately 200 games at the Richmond Ice Centre and Richmond Olympic Oval. Tournament games begin Mar. 20, 2023, and run all week, with championship games concluding on Mar. 25, 2023. Game schedule may be viewed on our website. Additionally, Minoru Arenas will host the highly-anticipated Feature Game on Mar. 24, 2023 at 7 pm. This divisional championship game is staged similarly to a professional game, including three periods, intermissions, player of the game announcement, and trophy presentations.

The public is invited to attend the free events to witness adult recreational hockey at its best. Details are available on the tournament’s community experience page. The week’s festivities kick off with the March of Athletes on Mar. 19, 2023. The community is encouraged to attend and officially welcome the athletes from participating nations by lining the street from Hilton Vancouver Airport Hotel and Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel to the Richmond Olympic Oval.

There are numerous ways for the community to get involved in this world-class event. Local organizations and groups like minor hockey teams and spring break camps can explore opportunities and learn more by contacting Kellan Tochkin at KTochkin@carhahockey.ca.
