Guests are invited to start their spring cleaning by bringing their used clothing to McArthurGlen Vancouver as part of the Recycle Your Fashion initiative on Earth Day, April 22. All pre-loved clothes no matter how well worn and even unwashed items are welcome.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Bring any used clothing items to Guest Services at McArthurGlen Vancouver, in Richmond on Earth Day (Saturday, April 22).
Step 2: Donate your used clothing in the recycling bins.
Step 3: Receive your 10 per cent off McArthurGlen Club discount voucher to use at participating stores. Some notable stores include Calvin Klein, Ted Baker, Under Armour, and many more.
95% of clothing can be recycled and clothes can take up to 2,00 years to decompose in a landfill. It takes 1,000 years for shoes. McArthurGlen Vancouver, in collaboration with Trans-Continental Textile Recycling, encourages fashion lovers to donate their unwanted items to be upcycled and re-used to help reduce the amount of apparel found in landfills and provide much needed clothing to developing countries.
For those who are unable to visit the design outlet on Earth Day, the Recycle Your Fashion initiative is ongoing, and clothing items will continue to be collected throughout the year.
