Tourism Richmond receives Prestigious DMO Professional Excellence Award

Tourism Richmond is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded the DMO Professional Excellence Award at the 2024 BC Tourism Industry Conference & Awards Gala, held in Victoria, BC, on March 7. This esteemed recognition is a testament to the dedication, passion, and innovative spirit of the organization.
"We are honoured to receive the DMO Professional Excellence Award, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every member of our board of directors and the incredible Tourism Richmond team. This award reflects our collective dedication to excellence, innovation, and collaboration (being EPIC!) within British Columbia's vibrant tourism sector," said Nancy Small, chief executive officer at Tourism Richmond.
Tourism Richmond's success in 2023 is attributed to a number of initiatives. It launched its Regenerative Tourism Strategy and related programs by collaborating with the City of Richmond, industry experts, and local businesses. Tourism Richmond also launched the EPIC Awards, which celebrate stakeholders' excellence and alignment with the organization's values.
The travel trade team led trade missions, uncovering new market opportunities in Southeast Asia while solidifying existing markets. As well, Tourism Richmond maintained their strong focus on digital transformation and data integration, including investments in human resources and data and analytics programs like Environics, an aviation dashboard, and Destination BC's Data Hub.
"We are committed to creating meaningful connections and experiences for our visitors," added Nancy Small. Tourism Richmond celebrates its milestone while remaining dedicated to fostering partnerships, driving innovation, and delivering exceptional experiences that showcase the people, places and experiences that make Richmond so amazing.
