Women’s NextGen Team heads to a Richmond for camp

Wheelchair Basketball Canada announced nine athletes will attend the Women’s NextGen Camp at the Richmond Olympic Oval in Richmond, from Feb. 7 to 9, 2025.
The three-day camp will feature on-court training sessions and off-court activities to prepare the Women’s NextGen Team for the upcoming Osaka Cup from Feb. 13 to 15.
“This camp offers our athletes and staff a valuable opportunity to strengthen team chemistry both on and off the court as we gear up for the Osaka Cup,” said Jeff Dunbrack, Wheelchair Basketball Canada High Performance Director. “Our three days in Richmond will also provide crucial reps, helping our athletes prepare for games against Australia, Japan, and Thailand.”

Wheelchair Basketball Canada (WBC) is the national sports governing body responsible for the organization of the sport in Canada. Wheelchair basketball is a fast-paced, hard-hitting, competitive sport in which Canada is held in high esteem worldwide for winning six gold, one silver, and one bronze medal over the last nine Paralympic Games. WBC will host the 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships from Sept. 9 to 19, 2026.
