Richmond’s public health officer is again calling on the public to continue to practice social distancing.

Dr. Meena Dawar said during today’s COVID-19 Community Task Force meeting, “We just need to keep practicing basic personal hygiene and social distancing methods.”

These methods will help to slow the spread of the virus.

Last week, Dawar said she believes COVID-19 is more widespread than statistics show.

“The number of cases is still going up on a daily basis,” Dawar said today. She reiterated the importance of following recommendations from health officials.

The BC Centre for Disease Control has more information about COVID-19 on their website.
