Effective April 20, all air passengers are now required to have a non-medical mask or face covering to cover their nose and mouth during travel.

While non-essential travel outside Canada should be avoided until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some people must travel for work or in emergency situations.

Travellers will be asked to cover their noise and mouth in the following situations:

• At Canadian airport screening checkpoints, where screeners cannot always ensure two metres of separation from travellers

• When they cannot physically distance from others, or as directed by airline employees

• When directed to do so by a public health order or official

All passengers on flights departing or arriving at Canadian airports will be required to show they have the necessary mask or face covering during the boarding process, or they will not be allowed to continue on their journey.
