With a little imagination, railroad enthusiasts can turn back time this weekend aboard the Steveston Interurban Tram.

This Saturday (Aug. 18), All Aboard! will allow railroad enthusiasts to ride the rails as if it were a century ago.

Bustling with activities, live music and vendors, this free, family-friendly event will offer a journey through Richmond’s transportation history. You’ll also be able to visit with the tram’s restoration volunteers and discover the stories behind Tram Car 1220. Or view vintage cars and specialized vehicles used the army, RCMP, CAN Rail Police and the Vancouver Artillery Association.

Cyclists will also want to check out new bike routes with local cycling advocacy group HUB, and register their bikes with the RCMP bike registration team. A free bike valet to securely guard the bikes will also be available.

The fun doesn’t end there. There’s face painting, crafts, as well as music with the Beauty Shop Dolls at noon and bluegrass beats by Ear Buds at 2:30 p.m.

The Steveston Interurban Tram is at 4011 Moncton St., in Steveston Village.
