Steveston to be partially car-free July 1
Published 3:50 PDT, Tue June 23, 2020
Parts of Steveston will be car-free this Canada Day, despite the cancellation of the yearly parade.
On July 1, Moncton Street will be closed to car traffic between No. 1 Road and Third Avenue. Bayview Street will be open to westbound car traffic only between those streets.
These closures will ensure pedestrians and cyclists experience less crowding and increased physical distancing.
City council is considering further closures, to be discussed after the temporary Canada Day measures.
