Angels hosting seniors talent show
For almost 20 years, there have been Angels
There For You.
During the past two decades, the community
group has been reaching out to assist seniors and their families by hosting
four events annually. One of the most popular is the Seniors Got Talent
Contest, which this year will be held on Canada Day.
The July 1 show will be held from 1 to 3 p.m.
in front of the Angels There For You offices at 12031 2nd Ave. in Steveston.
Everyone is invited to enjoy a lunch prepared by caregivers, followed by the
show.
Since the show launched in 2014, seniors have
demonstrated their considerable skills in the performing arts or other creative
talents.
“It truly is something unique and special to
watch,” says managing director Patricia Cruz.
Cruz says many talented and seniors are sadly
forgotten.
“I have met awesome seniors who served this
community for many years and were remembered no more, but now have a chance to
shine once again,” she says. “It is a privilege to celebrate their lives by
giving them a platform to share their talents on stage.”
