Readers have some reason to rejoice—they’ll now have limited access at all Richmond Public Library branches.

Following a month of safely and successfully providing residents with limited access to the main Brighouse branch, the library has as of today (Sept. 8) announced it will be introducing limited access at its Cambie, Ironwood and Steveston branches. This will be weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and at the Brighouse and Steveston branches on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

As well, access is being expanded to browsing collections at the Brighouse branch.

Limited access is defined to include quick holds pickup, popular collection browsing, and one-on-one help from library staff.

“We are excited to see you, and we ask for your continued patience and understanding as we expect the first few days will be quite busy,” says library spokesperson Stephanie Vokey. “Capacity limits and safety protocols are in place to help ensure that your library can continue to provide valuable services to everyone in our community.”

The Brighouse and Ironwood branches will also continue to provide access to the computer labs. All external book returns are open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. As well, no late fines will be charged regardless of due date.

Check the library website at yourlibrary.ca 24 hours a day for the most up-to-date information.
