Fears of inclement weather, following several days of torrential downpours last week, caused the Friends of the Richmond Library to postpone their planned sidewalk book sale Sept. 26.

But they’ve now rescheduled the first of five consecutive Saturday sales for this weekend (Oct. 3) outside the Cambie branch, 11590 Cambie Rd. (near the corner of Cambie and No. 5 roads). However, all of the events are dependent on the absence of rain.

Publicity director Pat Ng promises there are fabulous deals on gently-used books including hardcover and paperback fiction, children’s, Chinese and selected non-fiction, all individually priced. Categories will vary weekly.

Patrons are asked to bring their own bags or boxes, and note that these sales are cash only with all proceeds benefitting Richmond Public Library.

Due to COVID-19, face mask coverings and physical distancing of two metres (six feet apart) are mandatory. Hand sanitizer will be supplied.
