Airport completes Pier D expansion project

The long-awaited Pier D expansion project at Vancouver International Airport has officially been completed.
The new terminal features eight new gates, a glassed-in “island forest” with access to the outdoors, an “immersive digital experience” and a room for yoga, prayer and quiet. This is the largest airport expansion since 1996, but due to the pandemic its opening will be delayed.
The other features of the new expansion include:
• A private nursing room
• A pet relief area
• Musqueam artist designed vision strips
• Hot and cold water bottle refill stations
• An abundance of outlets and charging stations
