The objective is simple: lift spirits and promote positivity.

Through the energetic efforts of Leadership Richmond’s Youth Now program, community members are encouraged to submit photos and videos that demonstrate kindness, compassion, and positive energy.

Over the past year, we've all done our best to look on the bright side. In the face of exhaustion and anxiety, we've searched for silver linings, and tried to find reasons to smile.

Even during the darkest days of the pandemic, we've squinted towards the light at the end of the tunnel, and along that journey, have created light of our own.

This year's Leadership Richmond - Youth Now cohort wants to take that optimism, positivity, and resilience, and turn it into a video showcasing Richmond's indomitable spirit.

The deadline to submit photos and videos is tomorrow (April 15).

Youth Now participants will take all of the submissions and edit them into a cohesive whole, unveiling the final video at their graduation ceremony, in June.

And while being part of such an awesome project is rewarding in itself, there's another incentive to participate: everyone who submits a clip will be entered in a draw to win one of two Starbucks gift cards.
