The City of Richmond is inviting the public to get more information about upgraded flood protection along the north dike from Lynas Lane to No. 2 Road. The upgrade will be approximately 330 metres long and will raise the dike by 1.5 metres on average. To create the least impact to the foreshore, the dike will be raised inland. A preliminary concept design has been completed and residents are encouraged to review the information and provide feedback.

There are two ways people can participate:

  • In-person: Drop by an open house on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Austria Vancouver Club, 5851 Westminster Highway. Attendees can talk to City flood protection staff. They can also learn more about Phase 1 of the Works Yard replacement project.
  • Online: Visit LetsTalkRichmond.ca to view project information and complete a short online survey by Sunday, September 8, 2024.

Feedback from this engagement will help develop the final concept designs and inform future recommendations to council.
